I knit this hat with new and scrap yarns: the red is leftover wool strips from a rug hooking project; the black and white speckles are thread unraveled from a piece of fabric. The fetishes are braided yarn and bits of fur from an old beaver hat. 
The star pattern is from a Kaffe Fassett book, Glorious Knits. The hat shape is my design.
