Plein Air.Day 3.Part 4

By the end of Day 3, I was feeling good about my accomplishments and thought it was probably time to start packing up . . . only to discover that I still had enough time for another painting!

I was feeling playful and had some gouache that I wanted to use up as I do not yet have a palette for my gouache paints. Perhaps that's why this piece has a cartoon-like quality. It's my view out the righthand carriage house doors. The lefthand doors were closed because the rain was blowing into the room on that side due to wind and heavy run-off from the roof. I had fun taking liberties with the brick front wall, white side wall, and beige carpeting. This is the only painting that actually included the rain.

My teacher named this piece, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." I did not ask why but assumed it was because the tree appears to be entering the carriage house (perhaps to get out of the rain)!

Ooh, I like, I like. I like all the paintings you did in this class, in fact. Very nice.
