I know I'm about to embark on an English Paper Piecing (EPP) odyssey -- actually, my boat departed a few weeks ago. More about that later -- maybe in my next posting. Anyway, EPP means threading lots of needles. I was already doing a fair amount of needle threading back in June and July when I was caught up in a flurry of hand-piecing Dear Jane blocks.
I heard about this gadget on the Quilt Art list serve. It was a well-timed posting as I had broken both of my traditional (easily portable) needle threaders -- two in one week after using them for years. What's that all about? Do they have a predetermined lifespan regardless of how much they are used? Or, was I just too heavy handed? Anyway, I could not find replacements; somehow my local stores had none. When I heard about this gadget on the list serve, I considered buying one even though I hate having lots of paraphernalia around the house.
Clearly, I'm a skeptic. Several people on the list serve said that Clover's Desk Needle Threader works great but I just was not sure. This video is proof that it works just fine. I'm glad I got it. I'm glad I go it 50% off with a coupon. Now I'm wondering about the knock-off that was smaller and even less money. The knockoff looks a lot like a toy prize from a bubble gum machine. Have you tried one of those? Can you leave a comment about your experience?
