Mother's Point

I made this Dear Jane block, M5 - Mother's Point, quite some time ago. Tonight, I posted it onto the That Quilt Flickr group and discovered I put it together wrong. The four small red squares should line up to suggest a diagonal line that runs from 2 o'clock to 7 o'clock. I'm going to think about whether or not to fix it. To see the others, go here.
I hear you, Momma -- it's fitting that I "missed Mother's point"!

Well, how very interesting. And how perceptive of you to catch it.

My two cents? Step back, give it some time. Then look at the square with fresh eyes and decide what YOU want to do, how YOU want it. Make it YOURS.

There's enough latitude in Dear Jane Land to do that, isn't there?. People move squares, change colours, drop the edging all the time.

Jane won't spin in her grave if you decide you like the current arrangement, nor will she smile if you follow her pattern. She made her quilt to her satisfaction so you can follow her fine example. "There will be no quiz on this later."
