Coronado Beach

Delicious Beach
Coronado Beach was delicious! I thought I was just taking a trolley ride; I had no idea I was going to the beach, too! I was so taken with the experience that when I got back onto the hotel sidewalk I did not want to put on my shoes, so I walked around barefoot for a while. When I did get ready to put on my sandals, I realized that I had lost one of them! I headed back to the beach to find it amidst a tangle of seaweed and sand. Unharmed, really.

Shallow Waters
According to our trolley driver/guide, the San Diego Bay used to be only three or four feet deep; a man could walk across the bay. Of course, this beach is on the other side of the peninsula, but still, look how shallow that beach is! You can watch and listen to the surf here.

Written in the Sand
See those green masses in the last two photos? They spell out "CORONADO" -- large enough to be seen from the sky. Look for them on this map (the satellite view). If you can find the hotel on the map, zoom in, and then look to the left of the hotel (still on the beach). You will see the word CORONADO all in caps -- upside down.
