Straightening the Corset

E12 - in need of a better pressing. Note arrows.
I was ready to attach the sashing to this Dear Jane block, E12 - Mary Ruth's Corset, and noticed my sloppy pressing job. (Look for the blue arrows in the first picture.)  I suspected it had something to do with the softness of my ironing board, so I pulled out my handy-dandy pressing board given to me by my dear friend, Sherry.

E12 - Re-pressed; waiting for a trim.
Sure enough, the firm surface allowed me to improve things -- more of the buttons show.

E12 - Repressed and retrimmed

After pressing the block, I retrimmed it to 5"x5". Thank you, Sherry! I love my pressing board!

Unfortunately, I forgot to scan this block before I set it into the sashing.

Oooh, I'm so happy you like it. It's hard to hit the target when you don't actually do a good friend's hobby.
