Adhesive Thimbles
One of my fingers is getting sore from all the sashing work, so I decided to I try out the adhesive thimbles I heard about from one of my quilting friends. I got two different ones but have not tried either one yet :

Yes, I have used both and both work great. But, my fav is Ultra Thimble. It seems to protect my fingers better and with the adhesive, it stays put. I wasn't crazy about the adhesive either, but, they do work!!! Since I can't seem to get used to using any other type of thimble, this one works for me. I love it and I have used the heck out of mine. Hand quilting a King Size quilt, me and my Ultra Thimble became good friends. p.s. I found replacement adhesives via ebay cheaper than any store had them.
Hope you get a chance to use them, can't wait to see what you think of them.
Sandy,
Thanks for your comment and the tip on where to get more adhesive.
I have trouble with thimbles too. I bought the Thimble-It. I don't like them. They are too smooth and the needle just slides around until it finds my finger to stick. The only thimble I have found that I can use is a leather one, but the needles quickly make a hole in them. So I use the Thimbe-It inside the leather thimble. I have small fingers so I cut them in half to use. They do stick good tho. I use half a one on and off until my project is complete.
Annie,
Thank you for your helpful comments. I had a similar experience and may try your idea of wearing Thimble-It inside a leather thimble.
I've tried the Thimble-It and didn't like it for the same reason Annie mentioned - it is too slick. I love Thimble pad though, it's similar to Thimble-It, but it's leather instead of plastic. My only complaint there is the adhesive, it does wear off after a session or two of sewing.
Thank you for your comment, Emmy! Maybe I can try the leather adhesive thimble some day.
