Soap Opera - 10/10

The diva takes her bow. The audience applauds as she floats up to a rain cloud, on the magic of her song.

Bubbles melt and splatter in a brief and gentle rain, leave their sparkle and their color to ease our autumn pain.

ABOUT THE IMAGES AND TEXT
The collages were created in 1994 with different textured papers (bubble, splatter, plastic wrap, straw, sponge, marble, etc.) Clearly, the names of the paper influenced my choice of words. To learn more about image making in the writing process click on the red words and then watch some of the videos.

The actual collage for images 1/10 (the cover) and 2/10 have cut outs for the open kitchen window. On the cover, the book title shows through the open part of the window. When set up as a book (the original intention for the illustrations), portions of image 2/10 show through the opening on 1/10. However, when I photographed that image, I filled the opening with white paper.
