I was eager to get the illustrations onto this blog. I wanted to post all ten collages and the whole poem in one entry but it just wasn't working. Either Blogger is not intuitive or my intuition is different than theirs. Anyway, it became clear that the best way to maintain my sanity was to post each collage as a separate blog entry working backwards from ten to one.
In my eagerness to get these posts done, I've finally finished some unfinished images. I could never make up my mind about the background color and placement of the components for the diva and her orchestra. Yesterday, when I was quickly shooting photos, I just placed things where I thought they looked good and shot them. I also made some quick text edits -- I reinserted the stanza about the garden so that I could include that collage which I decided I liked after all. This project that's been on hold for nearly half a decade, got all decided in just a few hours! Or has it? I glued nothing, so I could still keep moving things around!
