The Dear Baby Jane group does a new block every Monday and Thursday. Just recently, we switched to a random selection for the new blocks. Last night, I returned from a five-day business trip -- wondering if would need to quickly get started on the next block. Lucky for the me, the last three draws on the random selection included one triangular block selected before I went away (I'm not make any triangular blocks), and two other blocks that I'd already made: K8 - Springbrook Park and H11 - Piercing Rays. The travels were difficult (bumped off numerous flights, an unplanned overnight in Chicago, lost luggage, etc.), so this is a real blessing.
Springbrook Park was made about a year ago. After putting away the Dear Jane blocks for one to two years, I ran across the bag of Dear Jane blocks and fabrics while cleaning house. I decided I could make one block. I did but, I nearly messed it up. I'd forgotten a lot including cutting extra fabric for the outside edges. Because of the way I crop my photos of the blocks, you cannot tell but this block has outside seam allowances that are less than the standard quilter's allowance of 1/4 inch. Here's an interesting fact I did not know: this block was named for a park in Brenda Papadakis' home town. Since I did not have to work on any blocks tonight, I started playing with Mosaic Maker instead. If you'd like to see more mosaics made with this block, visit my Dear Jane Experiments set on my Flickr account.
I already blogged about Piercing Rays here.
PS -- My Stats Since Twiddletails asked (see comments), here's my current count: 108 blocks (but I may redo 30 of them due to off colors or wonkiness!), 1,945 pieces, 45% fussy cuts, 5 blocks machine pieced.

I love your mosaics. You have SO many blocks made already that I will probably quite often draw blocks that you already have. How many do you have in total?
