I was just stopping at my computer for 5 minutes of email when I got an idea for another Dear Jane 5x5 mosaic that I've named M&M's Crossed Medley. That turned into two more ideas. Virtual quilts are fun; in a few minutes I can create a quilt that in real time would take untold hours of sewing since both of these blocks are hand-pieced and and loaded with fussy-cuts. In fact, the smallest pieces in the center of Michelle's Medley are 1/8 inch wide. We are not called Janiacs for nothing!I was not sure these two blocks go together all that well so I made a 5x5 mosaic of Michelle's Medley all alone. I put the two blocks together because they share a fabric.
The tiny flower in the center of B11 -Melissa's Cross is the same one used throughout E6 - Michelle's Medley. Only now do I realize that both blocks have four white strips forming either a cross or an X in the center.

The drafting of B11 - Melissa's Cross is discussed in (perhaps too much) detail here.

Hi! I came over from flickr. You asked about my Smoking Hot Sock pattern. If you e-mail me I can send you the pattern. I used to do patchwork and quilting, before I took up knitting again. :o)
