Green Minka (民家)

Special thanks goes out to Keiko Stusnick for providing this great photo. This minka is a beauty -- the textures, colors, and shapes are the best! I love the green roof (I love moss and moss gardens, too) . . . especially now that we are deep in the chill, snow, and ice of winter.

This moss covered Minka is my favorite. I always tell people that I want to be a moss farmer. A far-fetched idea for me, but I actually have saved articles about moss farming over the years. Haha.

Catherine, Thanks for visiting! I love moss, too. I even have a book on growing moss! Japan has more than one moss garden. Try this link: http://www.google.com/images?q=moss%20garden%20japan&rlz=1I7SUNA_en&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi
