Lisianthus

Lisianthus is a great flower. My favorite florist uses them most of the year and they are usually the most long-lasting flower in any bouquet. They come in many colors and the double varieties look like a lot like a rose. This bouquet includes lisianthus in solid white, white with purple tips, purple, and a muted pink. You can see all of them in this picture, except the purple which is hidden in the shadow above the sunflower. Check out some of the other colors available -- click here. Their scientific name is Eustoma grandiflorum.

They are stunning flowers. I've never seen the ones tinged in purple. I'll have to keep an eye out for them...so wonderful that they last. It always seems that the prettiest wilt fastest, doesn't it?
Best,
Catherine
