The Hotel del Coronado is a beautiful wooden building with lots of history. This link tells much of that history and includes some wonderful photographs, too. The lobby is covered with dark wood paneling -- the walls, balconies, and ceiling. Sorry about the crooked pictures.I took a quick video of the lobby elevator but Blogger can't seem to load it. Many famous people have stayed here and several movies were filmed here -- including Some Like It Hot starring Marilyn Monroe. For a closer look, click on the photos.
