Jane's Tears

C9 - Jane's Tears is one of my earliest Dear Jane blocks. It's done with applique, which I learned from a wonderful and talented woman named Marilyn. I made this block before I decided to make the quilt. I was just trying to make a  few blocks -- serious mistake. Ha! Many years later, here I am.

This block is one of the few that has a colored fabric in the background. I chose a print that looks like it has small tear  drops on it. The same fabric was used in a few other blocks. Last night and this morning, I began organizing my Dear Jane photos on my iPad. I have several "albums," and one of them clusters together blocks made with the same fabric.
