Soldiers and Sailors Monument

C11 - Soldiers and Sailors Monument is another early hand-pieced block. The fabric is unusual for two reasons: the color and the weight. It's a batik, and like so many other batik fabrics, it's dense. That will make this block difficult to hand quilt. The pink is more saturated and more blue than the other pinks in this quilt.
