Goshen: Bottom Left Corner Kite

Goshen - Bottom Left Corner Kite
74 pieces
2 fussy cuts

I made this block in 2012 and blogged about it on June 27, 2013.

I made a few minor tweaks to the draft: (1) the lines for the two "butterflies" were pivoted to create right angles; (2) at the narrow tip of the kite, I added a few seams to frame the fussy cut square, because I prefer piecing to appliqué.

I was running out of background fabric, so I bought a white damask-like fabric for the background for the borders. I hope this white fabric does not make the square blocks and sashing look dingy.

The rest of this block is made with four different green fabrics. The shading helped define the concentric stars and add depth. The two fussy cuts are made from the same fabric.
