This was the view out my window this morning -- right down to the snow in the golf course sand traps. [I was told that it had snowed very briefly the day before!]
Last night, I stayed at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH so that I could speak at a conference this morning. When I lifted the shade, I realized I had missed a glorious sight: the sun rising behind Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast United States. Just a bit of snow remains on the top where they experience the world's worst weather. The service was great, the food was great (and too plentiful), the weather was terrific. This was a much needed balm after 6+ weeks of jury duty!
Before it was settled by Europeans, Mount Washington was known as Agiocochook, "home of the Great Spirit." Check out the photos from the observatory.

It's funny that you posted this today. I'm going on the cog railway up Pike's Peak tomorrow, and saw that there is also a cog railway going up Mount Washington. I don't have that kind of view from my window, but it is wonderful to live somewhere where I can see a glorious mountain everyday.
Wow, it looks like I will just miss you. We are going to Lake Winnie on Sat. for the weekend, just an hour south. That area is really making a place in my heart. There are few places I would rather spend my time, although I hope it doesn't snow. Have a great time. Love Stacy
